Croatian Water Polo Team wins Olympic Gold

Today, August 12, 2012, I had the opportunity of watching the Croatian Water Polo team on TV play the Italians in  the London Olympics in a water polo match that was to decide who had the best team.    The game was intense and the Croatian team managed to defeat Italy 8 to 6 for the Gold Medal.  Italy won the Silver Medal defeating Serbia 9 to 7 in the semi-final round and Serbia, who was favored to take the gold, defeated the Montenegro team 12 to 11 for the Bronze Medal for third place.  Montenegro came in fourth place.

The USA water polo team lost to Croatia 2 to 8 in the quarter-finals and finished eight overall, losing 7 to 8 to Australia which finished seventh overall. Hungary finished fifth place and the Spanish team came in sixth place.
